Internship Opportunites at Kasirer Consulting

Kasirer Consulting represents a wide variety of for profit and not-for-profit companies and acts as their liaison with New York City’s elected and government officials.We offer internships for the spring, summer, and fall semester.

The ideal intern will be extremely organized and detail oriented. He or she will want to work in a fast-paced environment and be ready to learn. They must be able to prioritize their workload and handle multiple projects simultaneously without sacrificing attention to details. A fast learner who possesses strong computer, phone, and communications skills is essential. She/he must have the ability to speak and write well. Candidates should have an interest in New York City government and politics.

Each intern will be assigned to a principal lobbyist and may be responsible for:

  • Tracking budget requests and helping to coordinate client appearances at budget hearings at the City Council;
  • Outreach to elected officials’ offices to follow up on invitations;
  • Attending and monitoring City Council hearings and public policy issues;
  • Research;
  • Drafting correspondence;
  • Filing official registrations and reports with the NYS Lobbying Commission;
  • Database management;
  • Attending community board meetings.

During the summer session, Kasirer Consulting will host events as a way of providing a comprehensive curriculum on New York City Public Affairs including visits to significant and interesting places throughout NYC or luncheon guest lecturers at Kasirer Consulting on a weekly basis.

  • Kasirer Luncheon Series on Strategic Research (Polling)

Internship positions are unpaid; however university credit is available.
