Omar Alvarellos: Vice-President
Omar Alvarellos joined Kasirer Consulting in April of 2008. He previously worked in government, politics and the corporate sector.
Omar served as a senior aide to former Mayor Rudy Giuliani, from 1994-2002. During that time, he was the principal City Hall liaison to numerous City agencies, mayoral boards and commissions. Omar participated in formulating administration policy regarding economic development, transportation and community development issues.
Omar also worked for 5 ½ years as the director of NYC government affairs for Keyspan Energy from 2002-2008. At the time, Keyspan was a Fortune 300 company, the largest generator of electricity in New York State and one of the largest distributers of natural gas in the United States. Omar was responsible for advising the CEO and other senior officers with regard to government issues affecting the company and was the principal point of contact for NYC government officials. He participated in formulating the company’s government relations strategy dealing with sensitive environmental issues, including brown field remediation and the clean-up and redevelopment of manufactured gas plant sites (MGP’s).
Omar has also worked as an “Advance” representative for the White House Office of Presidential Advance where he has participated in planning and coordinating numerous domestic and international trips for the Vice President of the United States.
Omar is a graduate of St. John’s University and is fluent in Spanish.
